Join us for a digital artist talk and gallery walk-through with owner, Brock Brake and current artists on view including:
Adrian Octavius Walker will take us through “We Matter,” a solo exhibition of photographs that explores Black American beauty traditions among Black men; as well as the group exhibition he curated entitled “Elements Of…” with Alanna Fields, Angela Hennessy, T Rasheed, and Christopher Martin. Fields and Hennessy will discuss their works that delve into universal experiences—life, death, love, belonging—mediated through Blackness; as a personal and lived experience, as a part of an ancestral lineage, and as a historical construction.
Then, Lenworth “Joonbug” McIntosh will walk us through his solo exhibition entitled “Self Reliance.” Here, he explores the subjective nature of perception, the duality of simultaneously being right and wrong, and what you accept based on your experiences.
We’ll then open it up to a Q&A from the audience before transitioning into what’s next for Pt. 2 Gallery. Neon artist Meryl Pataky will offer a preview of her upcoming show, “Modern Guilt,” while Jordy Kerwick shows a glimpse from his studio in France of his upcoming exhibit, “The Complexity of Grey: on one hand this, but on the other hand that.”
When: Thursday, April 2nd, 4PM PST
We’ll also be taking donations to support the group which can be sent directly via PayPal to jen@roguehabits.com. This will be divided equally between all members of this event.
