This is a recording of our digital artist talk and gallery walk-through with Pt. 2 Gallery owner, Brock Brake and current artists on view.

Adrian Octavius Walker takes us through “We Matter,” a solo exhibition of photographs that explores Black American beauty traditions among Black men; as well as the group exhibition he curated entitled “Elements Of…” with Alanna Fields, Angela Hennessy, T. Rasheed, and Christopher Martin. Fields and Hennessy discussed their works that delve into universal experiences—life, death, love, belonging—mediated through Blackness; as a personal and lived experience, as a part of an ancestral lineage, and as a historical construction.

Then, Lenworth “Joonbug” McIntosh walks us through his solo exhibition entitled “Self Reliance.” Here, he explores the subjective nature of perception, the duality of simultaneously being right and wrong, and what you accept based on your experiences.

We end with a Q&A from the audience and discussion on being an artist during COVID-19.
